Yet another bad food additive

Sodium benzoate is a food additive used to preserve foods and drinks. Many studies, including a damning 2007 Lancet study, link sodium benzoate with increased hyperactivity. Did you know that sodium benzoate in soft drinks or other food with added vitamin C can react with the vitamin C to make benzene – which is a cancer-causing substance? The FDA tested a sample of almost 200 beverages that contained sodium benzoate and vitamin C and found that some of these beverages had benzene levels that were above federal safety standards (like a low level is acceptable). Here’s an idea! Skip the stupid over-processed food and beverages and try eating completely healthy like your life depends upon it.

But I thought it was a health drink!!
