When your bowels hate

Diverticulitis is a painful intestinal condition that happens when pouches (diverticula) in the wall of the large intestine become inflamed and infected (itis). This condition results when the large intestine has been neglected, bacteria are out of balance, diet is low in fiber and the resulting inflammation creates a weakness in the intestinal wall. Gluten is one bad mother to irritate diverticulitis and may even be the cause in some cases. First things first: Probiotics, lots of fiber in the form of raw veggies and fruits and get off of gluten.
