Whacked on bisphenol in plastics

Most people don’t realize that plastic containers labelled “BPA free” may actually be worse for them than the original BPA bad-guy was. Big Company marketing has been reaping a scientific financial goldmine by preying on unwary consumer’s newly-founded BPA concerns. All plastics require “plasticizers” to stabilize them for use, of which bisphenol is king. The replacement for BPA is the new bisphenol S (BPS), and it is just as potent as bisphenol A (BPA) ever was when it comes to altering brain development and causing hyperactive behavior. Both BPA and BPS are endocrine disruptors linked to hormone disorders, such as obesity, reproductive cancers, gender confusion (you heard me) and, most recently, hyperactivity in children born after exposure to bisphenols during pregnancy. You can’t afford to waste your or your child’s precious life waiting for new legislation to control this nightmare problem. My suggestion is to switch to glass containers as much as possible and NEVER heat any food in or put anything hot into a plastic container.
