Runaway metabolic syndrome

Metabolic syndrome is like diabetes for beginners and nearly half of adults over 60 now have it. Metabolic syndrome begins with a hefty layer of belly fat and some moobs (if you’re a guy). Then the blood sugar rises, triglycerides spike, blood pressure bounds upwards and the memory tanks. Metabolic syndrome exacts a toll on your health – in fact, having metabolic syndrome just by itself raises the risk of cardiovascular disease and death by a whopping 60%. It becomes a veritable runaway freight train! And you have to stop that freight train before you can back it up again. Begin with a no-grain diet and organic food. Add in a daily walk and some regular exercise. Get some full-body sun for vitamin D and check out your thyroid function. Just don’t rely on the thyroid blood test because that test can lie like an imitation wool rug on a fake terrazzo-linoleum floor. To know how well your thyroid is working, record your daily basal temperature for a few weeks to find out what is really going on with your metabolic function – then do something about it. Here’s how:
