Petrolem jelly does not belong on your body!

Petroleum jelly doesn’t truly moisturize the skin or actually bring any other health benefits beyond being a cheap but toxic lubricant. Sure, it looks like it moisturizes and hydrates the skin, but what it does in reality is trap dirt and bacteria underneath while suffocating skin pores. It does temporarily prevent moisture from leaving the skin, but at what cost? The kidneys are burdened with a petroleum cleanup and the skin cells are damaged more than they are helped. Vaseline’s is basically petroleum jelly that is made from oil refining derivatives. Some contaminates found in petroleum jelly are polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, 1,3-butadiene and ethylene oxide – which are carcinogens associated with petroleum jelly’s biggest side effect of breast cancer. Other side effects include dandruff, acne, dryness and irritation of skin and hair, abdominal pain, diarrhea, shortness of breath, coughing and irritation of nose, skin and eyes. Did you know that if you inhale petroleum jelly (from rubbing it in your nose), it can cause lipid pneumonia?
