Did you buy into the L’Oréal lies?

So, the cosmetics company L’Oréal advertised that its Génifique products were “clinically proven” to “boost genes’ activity for visibly younger skin in just 7 days.” Well, it was a bunch of hooey, so the FTC slapped them on the hand for lying. L’oreal agreed to settle the charges of deceptive advertising out of court. Their Génifique products will cost you about $132 and their Youth Code product soaks you for about $25 and have been on the market since 2010. Want to know how big the fine was for L’Oréal bilking Americans out of millions? Nothing. But L’Oréal better walk softly because if they advertise this lie again it might cost them up to $16,000 in fines. Really? But that’s how you punish a corporation for chicanery in the good ole US. Now if it had been you or I selling even one bottle of product with a lie behind it we could be thrown in jail, fined and forced to pay restitution.

That's all, just a little slap on the hand. Yep, they learned their lesson bout lying and cheating...
