Counting calories with donuts?

A calorie counting lesson: One donut packs somewhere around 195 calories that subtract from daily calorie counts. But the really sad part is that one donut will also leave you nutrient deficient, insulin resistant and starving for real food. With just one avocado you get to eat 234 glorious calories to count off of your daily totals that gives you vital nutrients, live enzymes, doesn’t whack your blood sugar and fills that little hunger spot nicely. Oh sure, a cookie might have fewer calories than a small handful of nuts, but the nuts are going to protect your heart and brain, while the cookie won’t help your health at all. Bottom line – calorie-counting doesn’t do a dang thing for your health if you are eating processed foods and drinking low-calorie diet swill. Good nutrition brings good health – not low calorie diets! When it comes to losing weight, you should worry more about eating a healthy diet with specific foods that are good for you than boiling the garbage over counting calories.
