All the children fail

Is it a big surprise that less than 1% of US adults meet the American Heart Association’s definition for “Ideal Healthy Diet?” Would it surprise you though to discover that essentially NO children in the US meet the definition for “Ideal Healthy Diet?” Eating patterns have also changed dramatically in recent years. Over the last 40 years or so, women have upped calorie consumption by over 22% and men are consuming 10% more calories. A whopping 68% of US adults are now overweight or obese and 32% of children are overweight or obese. With our fast food lifestyles, reducing processed sodium is one of the biggest challenges and the cheap and highly superficial carb counts climbing astronomically.
